MEMIC Safety Experts Podcast
Episode #23 | Published July 6, 2020
If you’ve been outside on a trail, field, or wooded area for work or for recreation this spring or summer, chances are, you someone you were with had a tick on them. Ticks live in grassy, brushy, or wooded spaces, or on animals themselves and can carry germs that can cause serious and sometimes fatal disease. While not all ticks are dangerous to humans, there are a few that can make you or your pet sick. There are currently no vaccines to prevent tick-borne disease in the United States, so avoiding tick bites is the best way to protect yourself.
On this Episode of the MEMIC Safety Experts Podcast, I talk with Andy Wood, Safety Management Consultant for our Forest Products Programs here at MEMIC. Together we will dig into tick history, their life cycle, how to identify them, and the best ways to prevent tick bites.
