Joshua Emerson

“The commitment of safety in the workspace doesn’t only strengthen the relationships employers have with their employees, but relentless dedication of safety strengthens the relationships of the entire community.”

Josh comes to MEMIC with over 8 years of safety professional experience, including roles with a prominent custom architectural exterior subcontractor in Boston and the largest concrete formwork subcontractor in Denver. During this period, he designed and implemented a robust safety and health program, seamlessly integrating safety measures into all production and logistical operations.

In Boston, Josh collaborated directly with various trades, such as carpenters, ironworkers, glaziers, laborers, and operating engineers, alongside major general contractors and subcontractors. His award-winning efforts led to a notable reduction in EMR and loss time rates, surpassing industry standards.

In Denver, Josh's commitment to safety earned his company the Willis Tower Watson Construction Safety Excellence Award from the AGC. His honed skills encompass fall protection, respiratory protection, confined spaces, scaffolding, ergonomics, rigging, crane activities, and heavy equipment operations.

Josh excels in safety management, demonstrating proficiency in policy and procedure writing, and developing best practices for high-hazard work situations. He has also enhanced return-to-work and injury management plans.

Josh holds a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Applied Sciences from Keene State College, as well as the OSHA 510 and 10-hour certifications for both General Industry and Construction. His dedication to continuous learning extends to certifications in advanced hazard communication, emergency planning, and managerial safety and health through FEMA's Emergency Management Institute.
