Dan has over 17 years of experience as a safety professional, including his time working for one of the largest industrial construction general contractors on the East Coast. He has successfully implemented comprehensive safety and health programs across a diverse range of projects, including shipbuilding, industrial maintenance, modular steel structures, bridge and highway, and electrical utility construction. Dan’s expertise spans all organizational levels, where he integrates safety seamlessly into production operations.
Dan’s technical expertise includes industrial hygiene, respiratory protection, ergonomics, fall protection, excavation safety, confined spaces, scaffolding, rigging and crane operations, and heavy equipment management. He also brings a strong background in electrical safety, having authored policies and procedures, and developed comprehensive NFPA 70E training programs for policyholders.
Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety and Health from the University of Southern Maine. He is an OSHA-authorized instructor for both the 10-hour and 30-hour Construction Outreach Training programs and is designated as a Workers' Compensation Professional (WCP®) by AMCOMP. Since 2022, Dan has been an active member of the Construction Safety Alliance of Maine.
In addition to his civilian career, Dan has served for more than 20 years in the military, both as an enlisted soldier and commissioned officer, currently holding the rank of Major in the Maine Army National Guard. His past assignments include Company Commander of the 1136th Medium Truck Company, Logistics Officer for the 286th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, and State Safety Officer for the MEARNG.
