Dan has more than 15 years of experience as a safety professional that includes working for one of the largest industrial construction general contractors on the east coast. During that time he implemented comprehensive safety and health programs on several different types of projects including shipbuilding, industrial maintenance, modular steel structures, bridge and highway, and electrical utility construction. Dan has solid experience working within all levels of an organization to incorporate safety into production operations. 

Dan’s technical skills and knowledge includes industrial hygiene, respiratory protection, ergonomics, fall protection, excavation safety, confined spaces, scaffolding, rigging and crane activities, and heavy equipment operations. Dan also possesses a strong background in electrical safety, where he has written policies, procedures and developed training programs for high-voltage electrical work, arc-flash protection, and hazardous energy control (lockout/tagout). 

Dan graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety and Health. He is a certified instructor in First Aid and CPR/AED, and has served as an OSHA authorized instructor for both 10-hr and 30-hr Construction Outreach Training. He also holds certification as a lead removal competent person for the Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC). Additionally, Dan brings 20+ years of military service as both an enlisted soldier and commissioned officer, achieving the rank of Captain. He serves in the Maine Army National Guard and his most recent assignment was as the Company Commander for the 1136th Transportation Company in Bangor, Maine.
