"Mechanized logging has become incredibly technical. As the pool of qualified workers continues to shrink, it becomes imperative that contractors retain their existing workforce. It is both morally and economically important that everyone leaves work in the same condition that they arrived.
I have experienced firsthand what an injury can do to a small logging crew. When the operator of a key machine is taken out of the game, the whole system can come apart."
Barrett Parks joined The MEMIC Group's Loss Control department in April 2018 as a Safety Management Consultant.
Barrett has experience handling safety issues in farming, logging, earthwork, steel fabrication, and transportation industries. He enjoys working with people and equipment in these fields and beyond, with the ultimate goal that workers come home safely after every workday.
