MEMIC's Michael Bourque elected to NCCI Board of Directors
(Portland, ME) - Michael P. Bourque, president and chief executive officer of The MEMIC Group, has been elected to the board of directors of the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI). Founded in 1923, the mission of NCCI is to foster a healthy workers' compensation system. NCCI gathers data, analyzes industry trends, and prepares objective insurance rate and loss cost recommendations. The organization provides its advisory services to 35 states throughout the nation.
The MEMIC Group is rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best with nearly $1.5 billion in assets and writing more than $400 million in workers' compensation premium in 2019. A resident of Portland, ME, Bourque has nearly 25 years of experience in the workers' compensation insurance line and is active in related national industry associations. He is a graduate of the University of Maine and serves on its Board of Visitors. In addition, he serves on the boards of MEMIC, MEMIC Indemnity Company, MEMIC Casualty Company, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Greater Portland and serves on the Steering Committee of Focus Maine.
