PORTLAND, ME, March 16, 2018 – Workers' compensation specialist The MEMIC Group has announced the promotion of Michael Carmody to the position of Claims Director of the Northeast Region, which includes MEMIC’s New Hampshire, Connecticut and New York offices.

Carmody began his career in the claims industry more than 25 years ago with Travelers Insurance Company in East Meadow, New York. He has served in supervisory and management positions with three insurance carriers, an insurance broker, a third-party administrator and a large self-Insured employer. He joined MEMIC in 2015 as a Regional Claim Manager.

Carmody graduated from SUNY Cobleskill in New York with a degree in Business Administration and from Old Westbury College in New York with a B.A. in Sociology. He served in the United States Navy from 1983 to 1987 onboard the USS Harlan County (LST-1196) and was honorably discharged.
