PORTLAND, Maine—The MEMIC Safety Research Center has extended the submission deadline for its fourth annual workforce safety and health research grants to February 17, 2025. The program offers grants up to $30,000 for U.S. higher education researchers to study occupational injury and illness prevention.

The extension provides additional time for researchers to prepare proposals for studies that will advance workplace safety innovation. MEMIC's most recent grant recipient, an Oklahoma State University research team, received $30,000 to develop virtual reality training for manufacturing and construction worker safety.

"We are excited to continue advancing the program into its fourth year," said MEMIC Group President & CEO Michael Bourque. "MEMIC Safety Research Center grants enable researchers to examine workforce safety challenges and create positive change for the American workforce."
