MEMIC Adds Hooper to Bolster Workplace Safety Efforts
(Portland, ME) – Anna Hooper has been hired as a safety management consultant in the Loss Control Department at The MEMIC Group, the workers’ compensation specialist.
Prior to joining MEMIC, Hooper served as an environmental health and safety manager in the wood products manufacturing industry and the Portland cement manufacturing industry, responsible for designing and maintaining compliance assurance programs derived from OSHA and MSHA regulations, developing written safety protocols and procedures, and providing safety training for industrial safety topics.
“I approach safety with a core belief that all injuries are preventable,” Hooper said. “My mission is to ensure that all workers leave work in the same condition that they arrived in each day. To achieve this goal, it takes employers providing the right resources and assistance to their employees, and a pragmatic approach to promote making safe decisions at every level of a company.”
“We’re thrilled to have Anna join what I consider the core of MEMIC,” Region II Loss Control Director Randy Klatt said. “I know she will be immediately instrumental in implementing strategies that make our policyholders’ workplaces safer and their covered employees safe and healthy on the job.”
Hooper earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La.
