Quality Assurance Specialist 

Location: Portland, ME 


General Summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist’s primary responsibility is to ensure the premium audit department is in compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by government agencies and applicable rating bureaus. This position will act as the liaison with agencies, bureaus and insureds to respond to inquiries or concerns. 


  • Researches rating bureau and performs audits on the work of Premium Audit Reviewers based on this research to ensure all Bureau rules and regulations, as well as, policies and procedures are adhered to timely and accurately.
  • Collaborates with management team on audit results to evaluate root cause of issues and recommend solutions to enhance employee performance.
  • Coordinates, leads, and executes team meetings in regards to proper compliance procedures.
  • Designs, develops, and implements training programs and materials that identify learning and educational needs of the department.
  • Delivers training through one-on-one new hire orientation, mentoring, classroom presentations, workshops and e-learning to ensure consistency and compliance throughout department.
  • Attends industry and company events as well as internal meetings upon request.
  • Maintains inventory log of insureds disputes and bureau test audit results and ensures disputes and bureau test audit differences are resolved.


  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of premium audit experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong data analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy a must.
  • Must be self-motivated and have excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Must have ability to identify trends in results and the resourcefulness to find solutions to enhance performance.  
  • Strong knowledge of workers' compensation Basic manual and Classification manual.
